Statement from Markham Erickson, Executive Director, Open Internet Coalition:

"The Open Internet Coalition supports FCC Chairman Genachowski’s circulation of a proposed order to the Commission in the open Internet proceeding.

"The Open Internet Coalition has filed repeatedly in this docket over the past year, detailing what we believe are the necessary steps to keep the Internet open for innovation and choice.

"This is the first step in the process at the Commission toward satisfying President Obama's promise that his administration will adopt a network neutrality rule to protect innovation, consumer choice, and free expression on the Internet. We look forward to continuing to work with Chairman Genachowski and the other commissioners as they review this proposed order to ensure that the final order achieves the president’s goals."
