11/04/2010 - OIC Files Reply Comments in Open Internet Proceeding
On November 4, the Open Internet Coalition filed reply comments in the FCC’s Open Internet Proceeding. In its comments, the OIC urges the Commission to “act quickly and decisively to adopt rules that will protect an open and robust Internet ecosystem.” The OIC believes these rules should be “technologically neutral and consistent across broadband platforms.”
10/12/2010 - OIC Calls on FCC to Remove Market Uncertainty by Moving Forward on Open Internet Rules
Today, the Open Internet Coalition filed comments in response to the FCC’s request under its Open Internet Proceeding. In its comments, the OIC states the continued absence of final rules protecting openness on the Internet fosters investment uncertainty across the Internet ecosystem. As a result, the OIC urges the Commission to move to completion on this matter, declaring that “further delay on bringing this matter to closure will have a deleterious impact on continued investment in both the infrastructure and content companies that make the Internet work for all Americans.”

Today House Committee on Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry A. Waxman and Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation Chairman John D. Rockefeller IV sent a letter to Julius Genachowski, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), on the recent opinion of the U.S. Court of Appeals in Comcast Corporation v. Federal Communications Commission.
